Sapphire Lady our Jack Russell Terrier Female
We welcome Sapphire Lady to our Family..! She will be 9 weeks
old, Dec. 11th 2004. We have had Sapphire for 2 weeks now, and
she is adorable.! Diamond Eye loves her and even Misty our cat
seems to be accepting her. I include pictures of Sapphire's
mother and father, as well as of Saffy and Diamond below. We
are thrilled to have found the perfect future mate for Diamond
Eye. They will produce a beautiful family.!
Their Babies have arrived..Aug. 16th 2004! Babies photo's can be

Sapphire Lady and Diamond Eye the day after we brought her
home. She is 6 weeks old in the photograph. I am holding her..!
I didn't want her to miss her mother and sisters and brother, nor
cry, so Saffy was constantly carried around, held and loved, and
joined us in our bed as well as Diamond and even Misty our cat. I
must admit our bedroom feels a little crowded at times..!
Diamond Eye and Sapphire Lady.! Saffy is just a day or so over 6 weeks old in the photo with
Diamond. Diamond loves her dearly, and has had more playing
fun since Saffy has joined our family.! At times Saffy is a handful
for him. He is gentle with her, shares his food with her, watches
out for her, and does his best to play with her till she tires out.!
Sometimes however he just simply gets on the sofa and takes
a break. Saffy is too tiny yet to manage the jump up to the sofa,
and Diamond has learned that if he wants to rest that is the best
place to get.! We lay pillows down in the floor of our bedroom,
along side of the bed for Saffy to manage to get up and down
from the bed when she needs too, or desires too.
What a time we are having enjoying these little treasures. They
are absolutely adorable. In time, as Saffy grows, and becomes a
little queen, we look forward to Diamond and Saffy mating and are
excited at the dream of seeing Diamond and Saffy's family.! They
will make lovely puppies.
We plan to keep a boy from their mating, and possibly selling the
other's, and then having both Diamond and Saffy taken care of so
that there will be no other puppies. But we are also entertaining the
ideal of possibly letting them mate, keeping the first boy from the
litter, and continuing to sell the puppies.
These dogs, we have found from owning Diamond now almost 3
years, are beautiful, very quick to learn, gentle, and so loving that
it is amazing.! They would be perfect for families who desire a pet
for a companion, as they do demand attention, and are almost
child like in their nature. We have yet to decide which we will do.
My husband, says more than likely we will end up with several
more dogs added to the family as he cannot see my getting rid of
them once they arrive.! Should that happen he says most
definately they will be taken care of in order to prevent future
puppies.
Sapphire Lady at 7 weeks old. Notice the little diamond shape at
the very center of the markings on top of her head. Very similar to Diamonds..! We took Diamond with us to view the puppies a week
before they were to be allowed to leave their mother, at 6 weeks. I
kept Diamond in the car, and my husband brought out 2 of the
females for me to see. He had already made up his mind on
Sapphire, because the had the little diamond shape in the center
of the top of her head just very much like our Diamond's.
He gave me Saffy to hold for Diamond to see. Diamond had growled
at both the puppies at first. But once I held Saffy, he of course
checked her out, and seemed to really like her. I was going to take
the other puppy and do the same, but Diamond continually growled
at her, so I didn't attempt to even hold her. Diamond and my husband undoubtedly agreed..! So Saffy was placed on HOLD for us
immediately. We could hardly wait to bring her home.
The week of waiting was almost like expecting the delivery of a
baby..! The day she turned 6 weeks old, we picked Saffy up. She
rides well also, just like Diamond. We have taken her with us to our camper, which is about an hour's drive from home, and she is just
as good as Diamond is, in riding with us. We are pleased with Saffy,
and she is fast becoming a part of this family, just like our little guy
Diamond Eye.! and Misty..!
Sapphire Lady at 7 weeks old. Beautiful, perky, full of energy, playful,
loving, and very smart. An excellent match for our Diamond Eye..!
Saffy at 7 weeks old.
Diamond Eye and Sapphire Lady, sleeping..!
This is a pitiful picture of me! But here I am with Saffy, only six
weeks old, wrapped in my blouse, while I am working at the
computer. She was so tiny that I could manage work while holding
her. However now at almost 9 weeks old, I can tell she has grown,
for she has to sit on my lap at the computer, instead of in my blouse!
The above photograph is of Saffy's mother and father. Mother is
registered with the National Kennel Club, Inc, as: Maggie May
Marlow, and the father is registered as: Sherry's Porkchop.
Sapphire was born on 10/09/2003.
Sapphire on her first night with us. She is extremely
smart.! She already knows how to get her way with my husband!
Even though Saffy has captured the love of my husband,
Diamond Eye is his treasured joy..!
![]() Here is Saffy at 2 months. She sits so very pretty and begs alot..!
She has from early on and I believe the begging is born within her..!
She hasn't been taught to do that by us, and is always making us
laugh with this lovely little technique of hers to acquire her way..!
Saffy again at 3 months, and again at her favorite pose..! She is
adorable, and has become as much a part of this family already, as Diamond and Misty is. Diamond loves her dearly, and we are so
glad to have found Saffy not only for Diamond Eye, but us as well.
She is a joy..! Misty even likes her, as long as she stays out of her
face, lol..! Saffy is a little spit-fire, and keeps Diamond well busy.
She has learned to jumped upon the couch now, and Diamond has
no private place to get where she can't reach him...
Diamond Eye and Saffy. Here they are trying to sit for the picture
to be taken. Sometimes Saffy thinks sit, means lay, as in the next
picture. Diamond Eye knows what sit means...! He trys to tell Saffy,
but she gets so excited that it is hard to teach her when she mostly
wants to play and fuss around with Diamond. But she is growing and
trying so hard to please us, and learn all she can, for she likes to go
with Dad and Diamond on their little trips...!
Saffy thinks sit means lay..! Diamond sits waiting patiently, but for
Saffy, well its hard for her to contain her excitement. But she stayed
still long enough to snap the camera for this shot of them. They are absolutely adorable, and we love them as if they were our children.
Soon Saffy will come to her first cycle, and although we intend to
protect her the best we can from becoming a mother too early, we
have no ideal as to how we will prevent that. We have never had
Diamond or Saffy caged, nor shut up separately. They do everything together, and it will be hard to keep them from being together at that
time. We are thinking of protective clothing for Saffy, and hoping that
will be enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated, from anyone
who has previous experience in this.
